I am currently employed as Creative Director at digital agency, Star Moose. We are a one-of-a-kind shop for the Idaho Falls area, and I feel we offer a refreshingly unique perspective and skill set for this market.
My background is in advertising, marketing, design, production, and broadcasting. I'm interested in helping companies communicate their value, projects, and goals in new and interesting ways.
Recent work:
Star Moose is a new digital agency. We have built a talented team with a history of success. I'm honored to be be a part of this creative and energetic group.
I direct all marketing and communication outreach at the company. My efforts have contributed to six consecutive record-breaking months in sales. Changes I implemented to the companies search engine optimization have trippled relevant web traffic.
My 3D software of choice is Maya by Autodesk, but I am familiar with several other products. I have specialized in photo realistic rendering of technical subjects. Because of the sensitive nature of some of the projects I have worked on, I am not able to display all of my work, but a sample can be found on flickr.
I have been able to significantly improve the search engine result listings for my current employer. I have a solid understanding of SEO principles and I have been successful in generating content that drives traffic. I also have experience with XHTML, CSS, and ColdFusion.
I have extensive experience with video production, both cinematography and editing. More recently my experience has been in graphic design for the web and new media. As video has become more popular on the web, my video production skills have again become utilized.
Other experiences I count as valuable education:
Build a FoamieI recently launched a side business based on the hobby of RC Airplanes. We create plans for building various aircraft models, and provide them for sale on the web site: www.buildafoamie.com. On the project list is a microcomputer controlled UAV, that can follow GPS way-points on autopilot. Through SEO and content generation, I was able to generate over 200,000 page views since the site was launched, February 2010.
Robot BuildingI’ve always had a strong interest in creating interesting robotic devices. In high school I took part in a robot building competition. We were to use Lego’s to create robots that could complete various tasks. My team won first place for each task in the regional competition. This exploration inspired me to build a six legged robot from scratch. I used the Basic Stamp II and wrote a script to control each two-servo leg.
INEEL InternshipIn 2002 I completed an internship under a biology research department at the INL. I was tasked with creating a graphical user interface for a program that was written to simulate micro-bio growth. I was able to complete this task using the scripting language TCL/TK. I was given the opportunity to present our work at a national biology conference in Orlando Florida.
